I am a second year nursing student and this book is awesome! I feel like medical terminology can be a college course all in its own; it is basically as if learning to speak another language. This book breaks down words into its simplist form to better understand all of those confusing terms. Wish I had thought of buying somthing like this sooner!

As a general intro to the subject, I recommend this despite a couple of misgivings: the back index is seriously inadequate and the lack of illustrations makes some definitions unclear. The best learning guides for me have chapters that build on each other and much repetition of words. This book presents table after table of new words, prefixes and suffixes we don't meet again. I felt as if I was trying to memorize a phone book.Still, the book has introduced me to the subject and prepared me for the Chabner book.. and then an online course.
Makes it super easy to break down words and the meanings. Anyone needing to learn terminology needs this book.

Very nice, handheld book. I was surprised to see how small (length and width) it was. I was expecting some chunky textbook LOL. I am satisfied with my product! They break down the lessons in chapters with “Medical Term Exercises†at the end of each chapter to review your knowledge. They also break things down in suffix and prefix which is the basics of learning a new language- yet alone a new word! Oh and it came within 2 days! Ordered it Tuesday night, got it Friday morning. Thanks Amazon.
