Fabulous beginning to a new series!I think this may become my very favorite of all of CeeCee James's wonderful series!James' writing is beautifully descriptive, her plots are well crafted and her books just keep getting better and better.The main character in Mind your Manors is super likeable, and there is a bit of crossover with another of Ms. James' series, which was a fun surprise.I enjoyed this first book of the series so much!Five stars isn't close to being enough.
Loved it! Flamingo Realty. That just was not a name I would associate with Pennsylvania! But it works for the O’Neill’s. The Valentine Manor and the family, well they were some real characters! Especially Richard! Poor Stella moved back to find out who she really was, and to meet her Grandpa. She had no idea of anything about him. Her Dad was upset she had moved back here. He wanted her to stay with him in Seattle, but she just had to spread her wings and find out who she really was and that’s a tear jerk ending! I could not put it down!!

Her endeavors keep you glued to the page - this one went by in a flash.Stella moves back to Pennsylvania to work for her uncle's realty company; she assigned to help sell a family manor; she finds something that should not be on the third floor. What she finds starts the thread of events that are a mystery.The storyline is not that simple. The residents of the house are hiding something that leads Stella in a snooping direction - interviewing the town's people to get to the root of the matter.The history of the family unfolds into a close to deadly ending - the mystery man or Stella. All the bits of information that Stella collect now made sense and the house is sold.Stella's investigation falls into place without her trying or knowing in a pleasant read. The characters are well put together for a series. CEECEE keeps your attention.
Another new series by one of my favorite cozy mystery authors is always a delight. It's like exploring a new place that you know you'll love and meeting characters you're sure you'll enjoy. Stella O'Neil is looking to reboot her life in the place her family is from. She gets a job selling real estate with her Uncle Chris and is partnered with Kari Missler from the Baker Street Mysteries by this same author. She also wants to reunite with her grandfather Oscar O'Neil also from Baker Street. On the way, she meets the mysterious Valentines when she and Kari try to sell their enormous manor house and life gets very interesting.
This is the first book written by CeeCee that I've read and I'm not sorry I've bought it.It's a cozy mystery and a very easy read. It's about Stella who moves back to the town she was born in. She needs a fresh start and that's what she gets :) She gets a job as a real estate agent with her uncle and has to help sell this big old house. The book leads you into all kinds of directions, but not in an annoying way. The end is completely different as what you'd expect and there is that mysterious grandfather she hopes to visit and speak to.I've really enjoyed reading this book, it's catchy and the characters are very likable. I'm curious to see where they'll end up in the next book in the series. If you like cozy mysteries, this is the book for you!
Stella can no longer stand her job in the corporate world--she decides-against her Dad's advice to head off to her small hometown where her Uncle has a job at his Realty company waiting for her. Stella knows nothing about her past and the Grandfather who still lives in that small town. She wants to find out--so off she goes--Her Uncle is a lot easier going then her Dad---but unlike her Dad he kind of wishes that maybe he can reconnect with his father. Her first assignment is to prep an old mansion for sale. The three octogenarians who live there are less then welcoming--or at least two of them aren't. As she is wandering around figuring out what to clean or have cleaned first she stumbles upon a dead body. She does tell the police--a lot of good that did. So she decided to "get to know" the other inhabitants of the town and see if she could figure out who the person was--Things get dicey and Stella is stalked. Her Uncle is starting to worry and her Dad is still trying to entice her to come home.So what were the mysteries surrounding this mansion and the family that lived there--you will find out--eventually.The ending made me so very happy--but I won't tell you why--I think it is what the next book in this series will be about!!
I really enjoyed this book. It was jammed packed with some interesting characters. Stella had left Seattle to return to her birth site to find out more about herself. Instead she solved 3 mysteries. Well written with good characters.
